Project Overview
This is a multi-year renovation project of the historic “The Three Bears” originally constructed in 1845 (Papa Bear – right and Baby Bear – left) and 1860 (Mama Bear- center). These buildings where the original County Courthouse and County Clerk’s buildings when Ovid was originally the county seat of Seneca County.
Renovation includes code required upgrades, new entry steps, replacement of historic non-conforming rear porch with a new design to include a stair and slate walkway to the rear area of the building and historic jail portions of the building. Front entrance walk is being replaced with a new front curved area for public gatherings.
