Project Overview
This space is a renovation of a 3,600 SF office renovation in downtown Ithaca for a business incubator. The design concept was to remove all existing plaster ceiling and added materials and reveal the existing nature of the space. Existing concrete floors, lime plaster walls and clay tile was left in its natural state. We created hexagonal ceiling clouds constructed of wood and sound absorbing materials. Attention was paid to producing a wide open space that not only functioned well for day to day office iteration however performs well for presentations that sometimes includes up to 200 visitors.
This is the first phase of a complex multi-phase project consisting of the overbuild of a five story building on top of this existing building.
