Project Overview

The Day Hall lobby renovation is an interior renovation of the campus tour and information center for Cornell University. This project entailed renovation of an interior stairway and adding glazed walls to enable students, faculty and visitors to better navigate the building. A new circulation desk is prominently located in the center of the space. Built-in computer stations and video connections enable prospective students to view and research programs online. Juxtaposing light tones and maple veneers with black accentuates the contrast between elegantly simple elements and the complex geometry of the circulation desk. The space is punctuated at night with a backlit signage wall visible to the public. The lighting design utilizes cove lights, decorative wall sconces and a main surface-mounted light source
